PCIM&H to take a new shape under Ministry of Ayush
The Union Cabinet has approved the re-establishment of Pharmacopoeia Commission for Indian Medicine & Homoeopathy (PCIM&H) as Subordinate Office under the Ministry of AYUSH.
The PCIM&H will include Homoeopathic Pharacopoeia Laboratory (HPL) and Pharmacopoeia Laboratory for Indian Medicine (PLIM). Both these laboratories are situated in Ghaziabad.
PCIM&H is currently established as an autonomous body under the Ministry of AYUSH.
The re-establishment of PCIM&H is an effort towards optimizing the use of technical manpower, financial resources and infrastructural facilities and is aimed at quality regulation and getting standardized outcomes of Homoeopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Ayurveda.
The merger will help achieve optimal utilization of the available resources and harmonization of standards of all these drugs segments.
