New Delhi. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh today announced that India successfully reached an unprecedented defence production valuation of approximately ₹1.51 Lakh Crore during the Financial Year 2024–25. The Minister highlighted the significant role of the Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs), which alone contributed a decisive 71.6 per cent of this massive total, proving their position as key drivers of the nation’s self-reliance in the security sector.
Strong Growth and Global Confidence
The Raksha Mantri made these remarks after inaugurating the new DPSU Bhavan, a state-of-the-art central facility strategically located at the World Trade Centre in New Delhi. He noted that defence exports also demonstrated robust performance, touching ₹6,695 crore and clearly signifying increasing global confidence in India’s indigenous military systems. The Minister affirmed that “Made in India” defence products currently enjoy enhanced global respect. He strongly urged the DPSUs to amplify their focus on research and development (R&D), indigenisation, and exports to establish India as a major global defence manufacturing hub. The Minister further stated that the successful execution of operations, such as Operation Sindoor, powerfully demonstrated the reliability and core capability of India’s indigenous defence platforms.
