DoT launches Digital Communication Theme for ESTIC 2025
India charts path from 5G leadership to 6G innovation at ESTIC 2025
The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) officially launched the Digital Communication Theme for ESTIC 2025.
The launch took place alongside the India Mobile Congress 2025, highlighting India’s progress in the global telecommunications sector.
The event also marked the inaugural session of the Bharat 6G Alliance (B6GA), aiming to position India as a 6G technology pioneer. Prof. Ajay Sood, Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India, presided over the event. Dr. Neeraj Mittal, Secretary (Telecommunications), emphasized innovation, collaboration, and inclusivity as essential for India’s digital future.
The launch featured a theme video, highlighting India’s transformation from limited connectivity to a global digital leadership position.
Dr. Mittal urged participants to imagine the future boldly, innovate effectively, and inspire the next generation to build a Viksit Bharat. Prof. Sood described telecommunications as the backbone of India’s digital economy and praised DoT’s focus on indigenous innovation.
He highlighted initiatives such as the Technology Development Fund and Research, Development and Innovation (RDI) Scheme to enable India’s 6G ambitions. The Digital Communication thematic session on November 5, 2025, will gather global experts to discuss emerging digital technologies and future connectivity.
Key speakers include Shri Kumar Sivarajan (Tejas Networks), Shri Ramu Srinivasaiah (Lekha Wireless), and Shri Puneet Agarwal (VVDN Technologies). A high-level panel will feature Dr. Raj Kumar Upadhyay (C-DOT), Shri A. Robert Jerard Ravi (BSNL), and Dr. Parag Naik (ITC Limited).
Academic perspectives will be shared by Prof. Radhakrishna Ganti (IIT Madras) and Prof. Panganamala Vijay Kumar (IISc Bangalore). The launch emphasizes India’s commitment to Imagine, Innovate, Inspire, fostering collaboration across industry, academia, and government. It highlights India’s readiness to compete in the global 6G race while promoting inclusive growth and technology self-reliance.
