MCL surpasses 100 million tonnes in Coal despatch for FY’25 ahead of schedule

Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) has achieved a major milestone by surpassing the 100 million-tonne mark in coal despatch for the financial year 2024-25. This accomplishment came 16 days earlier than in the previous fiscal year, highlighting the company’s operational efficiency.

MCL has seen a 7% overall growth in coal despatch compared to last year, with a 9% increase in deliveries to the power sector, reaffirming its commitment to strengthening India’s energy security.

The company also recorded a 22% growth in eco-friendly coal transportation through rail, further demonstrating its focus on sustainable practices.

MCL Chairman-cum-Managing Director, Uday Anant Kaole, praised the workforce, stating, “Surpassing the 100 million-tonnes mark ahead of time reflects the dedication of our team. This success underscores MCL’s commitment to meeting the nation’s energy demands with efficiency and excellence.”
