Power Grid inaugurates Chandigarh’s first Pink Substation led by women executives

In a major step toward promoting gender inclusivity and women empowerment in the energy sector, Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) has declared its 220/66 kV Chandigarh Process Bus-based Digital GIS Substation as a ā€œPink Substation.ā€ This marks the first greenfield substation in Power Grid’s Northern Region-II to adopt process bus technology, alongside becoming a pioneering Pink Substation.

The Pink Substations initiative reflects Power Grid’s broader commitment to fostering diversity and creating an inclusive workplace. These substations are fully operated and managed by women executives, demonstrating the company’s dedication to gender equality. The newly inaugurated Chandigarh substation is spearheaded by Chief Manager Simrit Powar.
