Launch of high-end technology platforms to make manufacturing globally competitive in India

Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises has launched technology innovation platforms with aim to help India derive specific solutions in the capital goods sector. Minister of heavy industries and public enterprises, Prakash Javadekar launched these technology innovation platforms jointly developed by iCAT, HMT, ARAI, CMTI and IIT Madras. Creating wealth for the country, total six technology platforms with focus on development of technologies for the globally competitive manufacturing in India were launched at this virtual event.
Javedeker said these platforms will help in making the manufacturing sector competitive on global scale hence achieving the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
The minister further said these platforms will also help bring the country’s technical resources and their concerned industry on the same page and facilitate the identification of the technological problems faced the industries besides finding out crowd source solutions at the same time. He said on the occasion of 75 years of independence of the county these platforms are the gift to the nation.
These platforms will facilitate the entire industry including the tier-I-II-III industries, OEMs, startups as well as the R&D institutions, professionals, domain experts and the academia in providing technology solutions, expert opinions and suggestions, among others. These platforms have already witnessed registrations of over 39000 Students, Institutes, Labs Industries and Experts.
