NHPC Signs MoU with GRIDCO Odisha for Pumped Storage and Solar Energy Projects
NHPC Limited, the largest hydropower development organization in India, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with GRIDCO Odisha, the Government of Odisha’s utility company, for the development of renewable energy and pumped storage projects in the state of Odisha.
The MoU aims to establish self-identified pumped storage projects with a minimum capacity of 2,000 MW and renewable energy projects, including ground-mounted and floating solar projects, with a minimum capacity of 1,000 MW.
The MoU was signed on June 23, 2023, in the presence of Rajat Gupta, Executive Director (Strategy Business Development and Consultancy) of NHPC, Trilochan Panda, Managing Director of GRIDCO Limited, Nikunja B. Dhal, Additional Chief Secretary of the Department of Energy and Chairperson of GRIDCO, Biswajit Basu, Director (Projects) of NHPC Limited, and other senior officers from both organizations.
