AAI to develop Greenfield Airport in Kota, Rajasthan
The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has announced its plan to develop a greenfield airport in Kota, Rajasthan. A tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between AAI, the Urban Development Department of Rajasthan, and the Civil Aviation Department of Rajasthan. The signing took place in the presence of Bhajanlal Sharma, Chief Minister of Rajasthan.
AAI’s Chairman Sanjeev Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister and Civil Aviation Shikhar Agarwal, and Principal Secretary to the Urban Development and Housing Department T Ravikant signed the MoU.
The new greenfield airport will be constructed on 440.086 hectares of land, with the Airports Authority of India preparing the Detailed Project Report (DPR). As per the agreement, the Government of Rajasthan will provide the necessary land, while AAI will handle the construction, development, and operation of the airport.
This development is expected to enhance Kota’s connectivity and promote regional growth, firmly establishing the city on the Indian aviation map.
