APEDA assists in exporting first commercial shipment of Kashmiri Mishri variety of Cherries to Dubai

Commercial shipment of Mishri variety of cherries from Kashmir valley has been exported to Dubai from Srinagar for the first time with assistance of Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA). It was in the month of June, a sample consignment was already sent from Srinagar to Dubai by air however, these Cherries were transshipped from Mumbai. The exclusive Mishri variety of Cherries is delicious and has various health benefits as they contain minerals, vitamins and plant compound.
Remarkably, J&K has earned the distinction of producing more than 95% of the total production of all the commercial varieties of Cherries which includes Mishri, Italy and Makhmali.
