Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL) plans to add 48 MW of solar power generation capacity by the end of FY 2024-25 as part of its commitment to sustainable energy. On Friday, Minister of State for Coal, Satish Chandra Dubey, inaugurated 51 rooftop solar plants with a cumulative capacity of 2.428 MW.
In addition to these rooftop installations, BCCL will expand its solar capacity with a 3 MW rooftop plant and a 20 MW ground-mounted solar project at Dugdha Washery, expected to be completed by 2024. Another 25 MW ground-mounted plant is planned at Bhojudih Coal Washery, scheduled for completion by March 2025.
This marks a significant step in BCCL’s efforts to contribute to India’s renewable energy goals, while balancing its core mission of coal production with green initiatives.
