Covshield vaccine finally recognized by some European Union countries
Covishield vaccine, produced by Serum Institute of India (SII), has been now recognized by 15 countries in European Union (EU). The vaccine is developed jointly by Oxford University and AstraZeneca. Soumya Swaminathan, chief scientist of World Health Organisation (WHO) informed this after the vaccine got recognized by Belgium.
This recognition will have the positive effect in terms of more and more people getting vaccinated across India and the world over. Among the countries accepting Covishield vaccine for the travel industry also included Iceland and Switzerland in European Union (EU). Even another EU country ‘Estonia’ has also confirmed that it will recognize all the Government of India authoriesd vaccines for travel by Indians.
