Defence production grows extensively to Rs 94,845 crore in 2021-2022
Ever since the country started focusing on self-reliance, defence production has been rising consistently, according to the Union Government.
The value of the defence production was Rs 79,071 crore in 2019-2020 while in the corresponding year the production increased to Rs 84,643 crore thereafter it reached Rs 94,845 crore in 2021-2022, stated Ajay Bhatt, Minister of State in Defence Ministry .
Many significant projects that were executed successfully include 155mm Artillery Gun system ‘Dhanush’, Light Combat Aircraft ‘Tejas’, Advanced Towed Artiliary Guns (ATAGs), Main Battle Tank ‘Arjun’, Surface to Air Missile system ‘Akash’, T-72 Tank, T-90 Tank, Su-30 MK1, Armoured Personnel Carrier ‘BMP-II/IIK’, Advanced Light Helicopter and Cheetah Helicopter.
