Defense Ministry signs 5400 crore worth deals with BEL and NSIL

The Defense Ministry has announced signing of three deals worth Rs 5400 crore for the production of defense materials. It has signed one deal with New Space India Limited (NSIL) and two deals with Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) under the self-reliant India campaign. The deal with BEL Ghaziabad is for the procurement of Automated Air Defense Control and Reporting System. Under the project Akashteer, these equipment will be purchased for the Army.

The second deal is for the procurement of Sarang Electronic Support Measure (ESM) systems with with BEL Hyderabad. Meant for the Indian Navy, the deal also involves the associated Engineering Support Package. It has done another deal with NSIL for the production of modern communication satellite GSAT 7B for the Indian Army.
