Foreign investors inject over ₹57,000 crore into Indian equity markets, highest in nine months

Foreign investors infused over ₹57,000 crore into Indian equity markets in September, marking the highest inflow in nine months. According to data from depositories, foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) invested ₹57,724 crore in equities during the month.

Additionally, they invested ₹1,299 crore in the debt markets, bringing the total net investment in Indian capital markets to ₹59,023 crore for September. This influx follows three consecutive months of net inflows into Indian markets.

So far this year, foreign investors have made a net investment exceeding ₹1.8 lakh crore in Indian capital markets. In 2024 alone, FPIs have contributed ₹73,468 crore in equities and ₹109,347 crore in debt.
