Gadkari announces completion of ₹82 crore infrastructure project in Jammu & Kashmir

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, announced the successful completion of a significant infrastructure project in Jammu & Kashmir. The project involved the construction of a 250-meter, 2-lane viaduct, and a 395-meter, 2-lane Maroge Tunnel, with an estimated cost of ₹82 crore.

This crucial infrastructure development is situated along the Ramban to Banihal section of NH-44. The completion of this 645-meter segment not only shortens the travel distance by 200 meters, reducing steep gradients, but also offers an alternative route that bypasses the well-known Sita Ram Passi slide area. Additionally, it facilitates the smooth flow of vehicles, avoiding the challenging Margo Area gradients.

Minister Gadkari highlighted that under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the commitment to delivering exceptional highway infrastructure to Jammu & Kashmir remains unwavering.
