Government unveils National Portal to strengthen non-ferrous metal Recycling ecosystem

The Government of India has launched a dedicated portal aimed at enhancing data transparency and driving evidence-based policymaking in the recycling of aluminium, copper, lead, zinc, and other critical elements. Introduced by Coal and Mines Minister G Kishan Reddy, the platform has been developed under the National Non-Ferrous Metal Scrap Recycling Framework.
The portal will serve as a centralized hub for recyclers, dismantlers, aggregators, industry bodies, and research institutions β offering real-time data on recycling capacities, technology adoption, raw material usage, and workforce trends. It also allows for the registration of industry participants and supports policy interventions in research, infrastructure, and skill development. Minister Reddy noted that this initiative would help bridge operational gaps and unlock the full potential of India’s non-ferrous metal sector.
