Govt transfers second tranche of Rs 6000 crore as GST compensation to states and union territories
The government of India has transferred the second tranche of Rs 6000 crore to sixteen states and three union territories as GST compensation. The first tranche of Rs 6000 crore was already released earlier. Hence, the Government has facilitated loans of Rs 12000 crore in total through a special window to states and union territories.
Raised at a weighted average yield of 4.42% the amount that is transferred will be passed on at the same affordable rate of interest rate hence it will be beneficial for the states and the union territories.
The total amount of Rs 6000 crore was transferred to Bihar, Assam, AP, Karnataka, HP, MP, Meghalaya, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Goa, Odisha, Tripura, Uttarakhand, UP, UT of Delhi, UT of Puducherry, and UT of J&K among others.
