Implementation of infrastructure projects reviewed by Union Minister Piyush Goyal

Union Minister Piyush Goyal  in a meeting reviewed the pace of implementation of various infrastructure projects monitored through the Project Monitoring Group (PMG).

One-of-a-kind institutional mechanism of Invest India the PMG portal is intended to facilitate the resolution of bottlenecks in infrastructure projects. PMG monitors milestone-based project and currently its monitoring over 1,351 projects under implementation.

Various projects of infrastructure ministries including Transport, Highways, Railways, Road, Power, etc have  been listed on PMG portal. The PMG helps the project proponents in raising issues with the concerned agencies, causing hindrances in the implementation of these projects.

The issues which have been raised on PMG portal pertain to grant of right of use or right of way, land acquisition, environment and wildlife as well as forest clearances. After being enlisted on this portal, the projects and their issues are escalated for resolution through various meetings with central ministries and the state governments.

Over 1726 projects have been enlisted on PMG ever since its inception. Since April 2021, 389 issues have been resolved through 22 meetings which have been conducted with State Governments and Central Ministries, besides DPIIT. PMG mechanism helps in achieving increased level of coordination among State Governments, Central Ministries and the implementing agencies for the projects’ progress.
