India is set to create national bank for infrastructure funding

The government of India is all set to launch a national bank for funding of infrastructure investment. According to Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, itโ€™s already in the process and the country already has budgetary resources for this purpose. Speaking at a session organized virtually by Coalition of Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI) in the national capital, Sitharaman said there is a big thrust on enhancing share of capital expenditure in respective budgets of central and state and that National Infrastructure Pipeline was already announced in December 2019.

A two pronged strategy has been adopted by the government and the strategy includes International Solar Alliance with aim to address climate change mitigation.
Lauding the efforts of CDRI Sitharaman said India supports international collaboration on Disaster Resilient Infrastructure.
