Many projects cleared under Namami Gange

The 48th meeting of the Executive Committee of the National Mission for Clean Ganga witnessed the approval of eight projects worth Rs 638 crore. The projects are aimed at cleaning and conserving the Ganges river and its tributaries.
Four projects worth Rs. 407.39 crore were approved for pollution abatement in the Shamli district in an attempt to clean the Hindon river, which is a tributary of the Yamuna river. The approved projects aim to prevent the flow of polluted water into the Krishni river, which is one of the major tributaries of Hindon that discharges pollution from the Shamli district into the river.
In preparation for Mahakumbh in 2025, a project for development of seven ghats in Prayagraj in Utter Pradesh was approved.
Another project for ghat development was approved for Haridwar, Uttarakhand, where the Akhand Param Dham ghat will be constructed at a total cost of Rs. 2.12 crore
