MoHua aims to accelerate construction of houses and delivery in stipulated time frame

In the 52nd Meeting of the Central Sanctioning and Monitoring Committee (CSMC) meeting total 14 States/UTs participated and it was revealed that the construction of 1,68,606 new houses have been approved under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban). It is proposed that these houses will be constructed across Affordable Housing in Partnership and In-Situ Slum Redevelopment and Beneficiary Led Construction, In-Situ Slum Redevelopment verticals.
The states also proposed revision of projects due to several issues like land, inter-city migration, topographical hazards, change of preference verticals among others. Already in over seventy lakh houses construction is in various stages and more than forty one lakh houses have been completed.
The meeting was presided over by MoHUA Secretary, Durga Shankar Mishra, who urged States/UTs to strategise the expeditious implementation of PMAY(U) projects.
Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs is in the process to offer pucca houses to the beneficiaries committed to provide pucca houses to all eligible beneficiaries of Urban India by 2022 when the 75th Independence day will be celebrated. It is therefore the ministry aims to accelerate the construction of houses and their delivery in stipulated time frame.
