NHAI Awards ₹6,661 crore Hyderabad-Nagpur corridor project under TOT Model

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has awarded the 251-km Hyderabad-Nagpur corridor project to Highway Infrastructure Trust for ₹6,661 crore under the Toll-Operate-Transfer (TOT) model. This project is part of NHAI’s TOT Bundle-16, aimed at boosting infrastructure through private-sector participation.

The 251-km stretch, located on National Highway 44 (NH-44) in Telangana, will be managed by Highway Infrastructure Trust under a 20-year concession agreement. During this period, the concessionaire will be responsible for maintaining and operating the road. In return, they will collect and retain toll revenues based on the rates outlined in the National Highways Fee Rules.

NHAI Chairman Santosh Kumar Yadav emphasized the success of the TOT model, stating, “The success rate of the TOT model in FY24 was 100%, and we have received very encouraging responses from bidders.”

This award is part of NHAI’s ongoing strategy to raise capital and improve road infrastructure through the TOT model, allowing private entities to contribute to the nation’s highway development.
