PM Modi launches projects worth Rs 10500 crore in Visakhapatnam

Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated multiple projects to the nation and laid foundation stone of various projects worth Rs 10500 crore in Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh. The Prime Minister also listed out various projects comprising a separate road for port connectivity, the 6-lane roads inside the proposed economic corridor project, an advanced fishing harbour development and the beautification of Visakhapatnam railway station.

Speaking on the occasion, Modi said these projects will open up new dimensions of Atmanirbhar Bharat and infrastructure development. Praising the people of Andhra Pradesh, the PM said the country is fast moving towards rapid development and as supply chain and logistics remain dependent on multi-model connectivity, the government has adopted a new approach to the development of infrastructure.

He added that the coastal regions of the state will move forward with new momentum and energy. The Prime Minister said India has become the centre of hope for the world. He said the GST, PLI scheme, the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC) and National Infrastructure Pipeline (NIP) are the reasons for increased investment in the country. He said the govt is also focussing on the Blue Economy. He also mentioned the measures like Kisan Credit Cards for fishermen and modernisation of Visakhapatnam fishing harbour.

Among the projects of which the PM laid the foundation stone  included the redevelopment of Visakhapatnam Railway Station, Srikakulam Angul Natural Gas Pipeline Project of GAIL, upgradation and modernisation and upgradation of Visakhapatnam Fishing Harbour and Andhra Pradesh section of the six-lane Greenfield Raipur- Visakhapatnam Economic Corridor, among others. He also dedicated U-field Onshore Deepwater block project of ONGC in Andhra Pradesh.
