Railways turns saviour by delivering tonnes of oxygen across the country

To aid the country’s fight against COVID-19, 224 Oxygen Expresses run by Indian Railways have completed their journey so far and brought relief to various states. On an average, Oxygen Expresses have been delivering more than 800 tonnes of Liquid Medical Oxygen (LMO) to the nation each day.
The Ministry said, Railways is continuing its journey of bringing relief by delivering LMO to various states. Oxygen relief by Oxygen Expresses have reached out to 13 states namely Uttarakhand, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Haryana, Telangana, Punjab, Kerala, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. Picking up oxygen from places like Hapa, Baroda, Mundra in the West and Rourkela, Durgapur, Tatanagar, Angul in the East, the Railways is delivering it to the various states.
