REC Foundation commits ₹10 Crores for ALIMCO project, aiding over 5,000 persons with disabilities

The REC Foundation, the Corporate Social Responsibility arm of REC Limited, has pledged ₹10.00 crores to the Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO). This partnership aims to distribute aids and assistive devices to more than 5,000 individuals with disabilities across 25 locations in India.
The Memorandum of  Agreement, signed by REC Foundation and ALIMCO representatives, outlines a project focused on empowering disadvantaged individuals, enhancing confidence, and improving functional abilities. The long-lasting assistive devices will be distributed at no cost to the beneficiaries, with an emphasis on their maintenance.
REC Limited, a Maharatna Central Public Sector Enterprise, stands as a key player in power sector financing and development in India. On the other hand, ALIMCO, a Schedule ‘C’ Miniratna Category II Central Public Sector Enterprise, operates under the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, focusing on providing artificial limbs and accessories to those in need, aligning with its mission to empower disabled individuals.
