Jal Shakti Ministry evaluates Jal Jeevan Mission’s progress in J&K

Jal Shakti Ministry has reviewed the progress of Jal Jeevan Mission implementation in Jammu and Kashmir which has over 18 lakh 17 thousand households, however, only eight lakh households are provided tap water connections there. According to the Ministry, Jammu and Kashmir is all set to gain 100 percent coverage by the end of 2022 that will be well ahead of the national goal of 2023-24.

Jal Shakti Ministry has already finalized the plan for water connections to over four thousand villages. It has already launched a campaign of 100-day on October 2 this year with the aim to ensure potable water supply in all schools together with the Anganwadi centres located all across the country.
