SAIL achieves a major distinction through Government-e-Marketplace

Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) has become the first Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) that has achieved a major milestone of procurement value of Rs 10,000 Crore. It has achieved this distinction through the Government-e-Marketplace (GeM).
SAIL has played an active role in creating different functionalities with aim to enhance the reach of GeM portal. It was in FY’18-19 SAIL begun with achieving Rs. 2.7 Crore, this year it successfully crossed the total value of Rs. 10,000 Crore and it was the largest CPSE procurer on GeM in last FY.
SAIL achieved the value of value of Rs. 4,614 Crore in last financial year, while in the current fiscal, it has surpassed its earlier achievement with procurement of over Rs. 5,250 Crore. Further, SAIL is is committed to increase the volumes on GeM substantially.
