aluplast takes bold step towards sustainability with 300 kWp solar rooftop installation in India

aluplast, a global leader in uPVC window and door profiles, has made a significant leap toward sustainable energy by installing a 300 kWp solar rooftop system at its Vadodara facility in Gujarat. The inauguration ceremony, which took place at the aluplast factory, was attended by Mr. Dirk Seitz, Director, and Mr. Babak Golriz, Head of Expanding Markets.

Covering an area of 2,000 square meters, the solar installation is designed to supply 50% of the facility’s energy needs, greatly reducing its carbon footprint. Over its lifetime, the system is expected to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 4.1 million tons—a positive environmental impact equivalent to planting 5,100 trees every year. This initiative is a clear demonstration of aluplast’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and responsible business practices.

Sustainability is deeply integrated into aluplast’s operations, from product design to manufacturing. The company’s uPVC window and door profiles are made from recyclable materials, contributing to environmental conservation while also offering durability and energy efficiency. With a service life of up to 30 years, these products provide lasting value to consumers with minimal maintenance.

Mr. Babak Golriz, Head of Expanding Markets at aluplast India Pvt Ltd, commented on the initiative: “This project is not just about reducing energy costs; it marks a pivotal moment in our broader sustainability strategy. By 2026, we will be investing in new extruders and production lines designed to handle recycled uPVC, further enhancing the material’s 100% recyclability to reduce our environmental footprint.”

With this solar rooftop installation, aluplast continues to lead the way in adopting eco-friendly technologies and sustainable practices, contributing to a greener, more sustainable future.
