CESL and DDA join hands to boost EV Charging Infrastructure in Delhi

Agreement to establish EV charging and battery swapping stations across DDA sports complexes.

Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL) has partnered with the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) to establish electric vehicle (EV) charging and battery swapping stations across DDA sports complexes in Delhi. The initiative aims to strengthen the city’s EV infrastructure and promote sustainable urban mobility.

Under the agreement, CESL, a subsidiary of Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), will develop and operate the charging stations. DDA will provide vacant land at identified locations within its sports complexes, facilitating the expansion of EV infrastructure across North, South, East, and West Delhi.

The agreement was signed in the presence of DDA Vice-Chairman Vijay Kumar Singh; CESL MD & CEO Vishal Kapoor; DDA Principal Commissioner Chittaranjan Dash; and Rajneesh Rana, Head-Convergence. The collaboration will follow CESL’s Build-Own-Operate-Maintain (BOOM) model, ensuring long-term operational sustainability.

Commenting on the partnership, Vishal Kapoor said, “This agreement is a crucial step in strengthening Delhi’s EV ecosystem. CESL is committed to expanding accessible and reliable EV infrastructure to accelerate the adoption of clean mobility solutions.”

DDA Vice-Chairman Vijay Kumar Singh highlighted DDA’s commitment to sustainable urban development, stating, “Integrating EV charging and battery swapping stations within public spaces will make Delhi more future-ready and environmentally friendly.”

CESL has already installed 455 charging stations across India, reinforcing its role in driving the country’s transition to sustainable transportation. The new agreement with DDA is expected to significantly improve EV accessibility and support Delhi’s shift towards cleaner mobility.
