Amazon India announces manufacturing Electronic Devices in India

Minister for Electronics and Information Technology, Ravi Shankar Prasad said being an attractive investment destination, India is poised to become a major player in IT products and electronics industry in global supply chain. He was discussing a range of issues related to digital sector, in a virtual interaction with Head of Amazon India Amit Agarwal.

Aggarwal announced, Amazon India is all set to set-up a manufacturing line in Chennai. After this manufacturing line gets operational, it will enhance production capacity Amazon India  and create jobs as well. The manufacturing unit will produce Amazon Fire TV Sticks. Prasad welcomed the step taken by Amazon India and also advised them to promote products manufactured by Indian artisans in global markets through their eCommerce Platform.
