APEDA Organises Mango Festival in Bahrain

Agriculture and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) organised a Mango Festival at Al Jazira group supermarket in Bahrain. The show had on display 34 varieties of mangoes sourced from eastern states such as Bihar, Odisha, West Bengal and Jharkhand.

In the current Financial Year, the exports of agricultural as well as processed food products rose by 25 per cent in the first six months in comparison to the FY 2021-22 in the corresponding period. APEDA, the initiative of Ministry of Commerce and Industry, has assisted the country in achieving 58 per cent of its export target for FY 2022-23 in just six months of the current financial year.

In April-September, 2021, fresh fruits were exported to the tune of USD 301 million. They were increased to USD 313 million during April-September 2022.  The export of pulses has increased 144 % in Q2 during this period.
Basmati rice also witnessed 37.36% growth in exports in the six months of FY 22-23. On the other hand, the export of dairy, meat and poultry products witnessed an increase of 10.29 %.
