Cabinet gives nod to 2251.25 MHz spectrum auction

The existing mobile services providers will soon be able to expand their network while the new players waiting to join the fray will be able to launch their services soon as the Union Cabinet has given its nod on spectrum auction proposal submitted by the telecommunication department.
As per the plans, a total of 2251.25 MHz spectrum in frequency band ranging from 700 MHz to 2500 MHz will be offered through auction and its total valuation estimated at the reserve price is Rs. 3,92,332.70 crore. The spectrum will be offered for the period of 20 years.
