Piyush Goyal invites foreign investors to expand their portfolio in India

Minister of Commerce and Industry, Railways, Food and Public Distribution and Consumer Affairs Piyush Goyal while addressing the inaugural session in CII’s Partnership Summit 2020 on virtual mode said, the country is systematically opening up new sectors of the economy for global investors and encouraging strategic relationships and strengthening its future economic plans.
He welcomed the foreign investors with open arms and assured them complete assistance and partnership. He informed FDI flows have been growing continuously in India and that they grew even at the peak of the pandemic.
He gave credit to the most facilitative FDI policies for 13% higher than last year’s FDI inflow in the country. He said the partnership summit will help in the joint endeavour towards getting economies back on the high growth trajectory and that it’s time to be in India and expand your investments as it is the land of opportunities.
He said that several new schemes including production- linked incentive scheme have been introduced in India to attract investors to set-up industries in India. He informed that in all the ministries there are investment promotion cells and the central government and states are working jointly to promote investment.
He added that the country has been encouraging global involvement in its V-shaped recovery by introducing reforms and facilitation measures and the investors are invited to board the bus of development, prosperity, and growth being crafted for the people of India by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
