PM Modi reiterates commitment towards farmers’ welfare while launching development projects in Gujarat
Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a series of development projects including a hybrid renewable energy park, a desalination plant, and an automated milk processing plant in Gujarat.
Speaking on the occasion, he lauded the farmers in Kutch for exporting fruits abroad while suggesting that with changing times, one needs to embrace global best practices. He said over the last two decades agriculture, fisheries, and dairy sectors have prospered in Gujarat due to minimum government interference. Alluding to the ongoing farmers’ agitation, he added that farmers are being misled about agriculture reforms that are being carried out. He said the government is committed to farmer welfare and will address their concerns.
He laid foundation stones for a desalination plant in Mandvi, a Renewable Energy Park in Kharera and an automatic milk processing plant at Sarhad Dehri in Anjar. The Prime Minister lauded the state government for introducing farmer-friendly schemes and added that Gujarat has been a pioneer in boosting solar energy capacities.
