Committed to uplift MSMEs, govt taking steps to generate five crore employment

In a conference held on ‘Digitalisation – The Key for MSMEs’ Rise to Resilience,’ Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Nitin Gadkari said the Government has been taking several steps to enhance the contribution of this sector. The ministe added that the Government is facilitating capabilities of export, besides job generation in this sector with the aim to generate five crore employment in this sector.

Gadkari also revealed the plans of the government to increase the overall contribution of the MSMEs in the economy to 40 per cent in the coming years from the current 30 per cent. He said while E-market is the country’s future, digitalisation in the manufacturing and marketing process can help the sector achieve new heights.
