Country’s first multi-model Logistics Park coming up in Assam

The country’s first multi-model Logistic Park was launched in Assam. Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Road Transport, Highways and MSMEs laid the foundation stone of this Rs 693.97 crore Logistic Park at Jogighopa in Assam. It will offer direct road, rail, air as well as waterways connectivity. To be delivered under Bharatmala Pariyojana, the logistic park is the first among 35 multi-model-logistics parks (MMLP) planned to be developed.

Gadkari said in this financial year itself 575 km of National Highway work will be completed and it is estimated to cost Rs  3,545 crore. He said a total of twelve accident black-spots have been identified on various highways and all these spots will be taken care of in the next couple of years. He added that the MMLP will have a wide range of facilities including railway siding, yard facility, warehouse,  workshops, cold storage, petrol pumps, administrative building, water treatment plant, eating joints, boarding and lodging facility, and water treatment plant, among others. Union Minister of State Jitendra Singh also addressed the event.
