India Prioritises Global Biofuels Alliance

Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs, Petroleum and Natural Gas, Hardeep S Puri has announced that the Global Biofuel Alliance is one of the priorities under India’s G20 Presidency.

India, Brazil, and the United States will lead biofuel producers and consumers and work jointly to forge alliance with interested countries for the development of a Global Biofuels Alliance in the next few months.

The alliance will facilitate cooperation and intensify biofuels uses in the transportation sector. Besides emphasising upon strengthening the markets. It will place emphasis on strengthening markets besides facilitating global biofuels trade and development of concrete policy lesson-sharing. The alliance will complement the existing regional and international agencies. It will also come out with initiatives in the bioeconomy, bioenergy and more broadly the energy transition fields.
