GPRA allotees given relaxation of 15 days in view of COVID-19 spread

Government Accommodation allotees of General Pool Residential Accommodation (GPRA) category have been given additional 15 days relaxation by Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) in their retention period till 15th July in view of the rapid spread of COVID-19. Earlier the retention period was extended till June end.

The Ministry’s decision has come after it received various represntations regarding the hardships faced by the allotees in not only in hiring alternate accommodation but also in arranging labour for their shifting due to rapid spread of COVID-19 cases. The Ministry had earlier advised the allottees to vacate their accormodation till 15th July failing which damage charges or market rent was to be leveid.
