IT industry to leverage permanent work from home through eased out compliances

In a major boost to the morale of employees in the BPO industry in terms of offering the convenience of working from home in the current period of the pandemic, the telecom department has removed several requirements that earlier prevented IT companies from adopting work from anywhere. Moreover, the requirements such as obligations of frequent reporting, static IPs, the deposit of bank, penal provisions, the publication of network diagram, etc have also been removed.

According to Narendra Modi,  the Prime Minister of India,  compliance burden has been reduced while simultaneously simplifying the OSP guidelines to make India a tech hub on the back of ease of doing business. These steps will  also encourage young talent in the sector. Ravi Shankar Prasad, Minister of Electronics and IT added, “the move will create a friendly regime for work from home in the country and will boost the IT, ITeS as well as the BPO industry in India.”
