Madhya Pradesh witnesses resumption of film production activities

Thanks to concerted efforts of Madhya Pradesh (MP) Tourism Board, Madhya Pradesh has become the first state to start film production and promotions activities in post-COVID-19 unlock phase. The government has already released Standard Operating Guiding Principles to kick-start film shooting activities in the state with a series of changes in different procedures and clearance mechanisms. In order to extend support to the film fraternity, a dedicated web portal is also coming up to offer a single-window clearance mechanism for the filmmakers intending to shoot in various picturesque locations of the state.

While all the applications shall be taken up through online mode by the film facilitation cell, it will also carry out all the necessary actions regarding permissions from the concerned departments, according to MP tourism Board. The web portal shall also act as a single platform to disseminate information regarding film tourism policy and all the rules and regulations, besides grants and utility services to ensure the comfort of shooting in the state. Renowned actor Anupam Kher has in the meanwhile extended his gratitude for restart of all the activities regarding film shooting in the state. He said without the help of MP Government and the local authorities and the MP Tourism department it was not possible. Besides strong government support, film-friendly policies, easy permissions, modern infrastructure, the tourism department of the state has been providing dedicated film facilitation cell and authentic shooting locations to the producers and directors.

More than 200 projects related to feature films, reality shows, TV Serials and TVCs & have been successfully shot in Madhya Pradesh. Among them, a few well-known names include Sui-Dhaga, Stree, Kalank, Padman, Manikarnika, Toilet Ek prem Katha, Luka Chhupi, Paan Singh Tomar, Bajirao Mastani, Aarakshan, Lion, and Raajneeti, among others.
