Ministry of Ayush’s Y-Break program recognized as top performer on iGOT platform

The Ministry of Ayush’s innovative *Yoga Break at Workplace (Y-Break)* initiative has been honored with a Certificate of Appreciation for its exceptional performance on the iGOT Karmayogi Bharat Platform. Dr. Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State for Personnel, presented the award to Dr. Kashinath Samagandi, Director of the Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga (MDNIY), during the closing ceremony of the National Learning Week – Karmayogi Saptah, held at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi.

Acknowledging the success of the Y-Break program, Prataprao Jadhav, Minister of State (Independent Charge), Ministry of Ayush, highlighted the critical role of fitness in workplace efficiency. He remarked, *“The Ministry of Ayush is committed to encouraging self-care through yoga. Congratulations to Team Ayush and MDNIY for designing such a transformative program.”*

The Y-Break course has become the top-performing program on the iGOT platform, with an impressive 868,094 government officials completing it. This achievement highlights the program’s widespread appeal and its role in enhancing health and well-being among professionals.

Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary of the Ministry of Ayush, commented, *“Our efforts are focused on creating simple and effective yoga practices like the Y-Break program that fit effortlessly into employees’ schedules, keeping them refreshed and productive.”*

The Y-Break protocol, a five-minute yoga regimen, is designed to help employees manage stress, regain focus, and boost energy during their workday. The program incorporates easy-to-practice techniques such as Tadasana, Urdhva Hastottanasana, Prasarita Padottanasana, and Nadisodhana Pranayama, which are proven to enhance immunity and overall mental and physical well-being.

A pilot study involving 717 participants from 35 organizations demonstrated the program’s significant benefits, with participants reporting improved concentration, reduced stress, and enhanced resilience. These findings underscore its potential to revolutionize workplace health and productivity.

By introducing the Y-Break initiative, the Ministry of Ayush has addressed a vital gap in employee wellness programs across sectors. With its adaptability, the Y-Break protocol caters to diverse professions, from industrial workers to educators, ensuring its relevance across various workplace environments.

This recognition reinforces the Ministry of Ayush’s dedication to promoting holistic health and well-being in professional settings. The Ministry continues to encourage organizations nationwide to adopt the Y-Break protocol, fostering a healthier, more productive workforce.
