Nitin Gadkari announces completion of Rs 3 lakh crore road projects in Kerala

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, announced on Friday that road infrastructure projects worth Rs 3 lakh crore will be completed in Kerala during his tenure, including Rs 50,000 crore in upcoming initiatives.
Speaking virtually at the Invest Kerala Global Summit (IKGS), Gadkari highlighted the crucial role of the road sector in the state’s development while also emphasizing the growth potential of Kerala’s tourism industry. He noted that Kerala has been making significant strides in enhancing its infrastructure.
According to Gadkari, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has already completed road projects worth Rs 20,000 crore in Kerala, with ongoing projects valued at Rs 60,000 crore. Additionally, the Minister shared that 31 new road projects spanning 896 kilometers, worth Rs 50,000 crore, are set to be launched soon.
“The road sector is vital for Kerala’s progress, and I am pleased to announce these new projects. The Union government is committed to supporting all forms of development in the state,” Gadkari stated. Reaffirming his commitment, the Minister, who is also a senior BJP leader, assured that during his regime, the Union government would successfully complete road projects worth Rs 3 lakh crore in Kerala.
This announcement further cements the Union government’s commitment to boosting Kerala’s infrastructure, which is expected to fuel the state’s economic growth and enhance its attractiveness as a tourism destination.
