Nitin Gadkari unveils four infrastructure projects worth Rs 1450 crore in Assam

In a momentous development for Assam’s infrastructure, Nitin Gadkari, the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, inaugurated the 4-Lane Section between Nagaon Bypass-Teliagaon and Teliagaon-Rangagara. Moreover, Nitin Gadkari took part in the ceremony by laying the foundation stones for two significant projects in Assam: the Mangaldai Bypass and the 4-lane section that links Daboka to Parakhuwa. The virtual event was graced by the esteemed presence of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, along with Members of Parliament Dilip Saikia and Pradyut Bordoloi, and State Minister of Forest & Environment Chandra Mohan Patowary. With a collective investment of Rs 1450 Crore, these four projects represent a significant boost to the state’s infrastructure.

The Nagaon Bypass-Teliagaon and Teliagaon-Rangagara 4-Lane Section, spanning 18 km and costing Rs 403 Crore, stands as a widened highway that enhances accessibility between North Assam and Upper Assam. This development is expected to fuel economic growth and unlock new opportunities for the region.

Another noteworthy project is the Mangaldai Bypass, which aims to construct a 15 km bypass on NH 15 with a budget of Rs 535 Crore. By embarking on this well-planned initiative, the aim is to enhance the connectivity between Assam, West Bengal, and Arunachal Pradesh, enabling smooth and unhindered travel while fostering the integration of the regions at a local level.

In addition, a significant milestone was achieved with the inauguration of the foundation stone for a 13 km bypass on NH-29, connecting Daboka and Parakhuwa, which involved a substantial investment of Rs 517 Crore. This notable undertaking assumes a critical role in reinforcing the linkages along the Guwahati-Dimapur Economic Corridor, consequently promoting stronger connections to Myanmar and Thailand. The bypass is expected to enhance inter-regional connectivity between Assam and Nagaland.

These ambitious projects reflect a substantial investment in Assam’s infrastructure, underlining the government’s commitment to developing robust transportation networks and propelling economic growth throughout the state.
