Paradip Port handles record monthly cargo volume in the year-end

Paradip Port has signed off the year 2022 with clocking superb monthly cargo throughput that’s highest registered by any other major port of India. In the month of December in the year gone by it recorded cargo handling of 12.6 MMT.

Till December 2022, the port has handled 96.81 MMT cargo against 83.6 MMT of cargo during this period last year. The growth has been fuelled by several system improvement measures introduced by the port. A remarkable 58.11% growth has been registered over the same period last year.

Coastal Thermal Coal handling has shown a remarkable 58.11% growth in comparison to previous fiscal and it also constitutes about 31.56% of total cargo volume handled at the Port. Paradip port is emerging as a coastal shipping hub of the country and has plans even to coastal ship thermal coal to power houses, located in Rajasthan, UP and Haryana.
