PM inaugurates vibrant start-up Mahakumbh in New Delhi, witnessing record participation
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Start-up Mahakumbh at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, calling it a “Mahakumbh in its truest form creating an unprecedented energy and vibe.” The event, witnessing record-breaking participation, serves as a vibrant platform for stakeholders in the Indian startup ecosystem, fostering innovation and entrepreneurship.
It hosts over 2000 startups, 1000 investors, 100+ unicorns, and 300+ incubators & accelerators, with discussions on emerging sectors like DeepTech, AgriTech, BioTech, AI, and Gaming. Key stakeholders and industry leaders participate, including  Sivasubramanian Ramann, SIDBI; Prashanth Prakash, Partner, Accel;  Sanjeev Bikhchandani, Founder, Info Edge;  Sanjay Nayar, Founder, Sorin Investments;  Archana Jahagirdar, Managing Partner, Rukam Capital, and others.
The event features keynote addresses, thematic pavilions, engaging panel discussions, actionable workshops, networking opportunities, mentorship sessions, and exhibitions showcasing innovative products and services. In his address, PM Modi highlighted India’s goal to become a Viksit Bharat by 2047, emphasizing the country’s achievements in the IT and software sectors.
He praised the growth of the startup ecosystem and its societal impact, noting that startups have become a social culture. PM Modi encouraged startups to file patents quickly and praised the GeM portal for supporting businesses. He underlined the importance of innovation for India and the world, mentioning India’s leadership in AI and its initiatives like Startup-20. PM Modi urged startups to give back to society and emphasized India’s economic growth driven by startups, aiming to become the third-largest economy. He also praised the event for hosting a large number of women-led startups, highlighting their contributions in sectors like education, agriculture, and health.
The event also witnessed vibrant discussions on the future of Indian startups and the critical role they play in the country’s economic growth. Sessions were held around strategies for fostering creativity and disruption in startups, the next decade’s outlook for the ecosystem, building multi-generational businesses, and opportunities for key sectors like Agritech, AI & SaaS, Climate Tech, Gaming, and Deep Tech, among others. Additionally, enriching sessions were held on how startups can scale their businesses globally.
