PM Modi calls for rapid upgradation of healthcare infrastructure in a meeting with top officials

Prime Minister Narendra Modi while chairing a COVID-19 situation review meeting, asked the officials to ensure upgradation of healthcare infrastructure at a fast pace in the country. In the meeting with top officials, Modi reviewed the situation relating to medicines and health infrastructure, besides the availability of oxygen in various locatio. The officials informed the Prime Minister that the allocation of Oxygen to the states is being increased. It was revealed in the meeting that the domestic production of liquid medical oxygen.

The officials were instructed by the prime minister to work closely with the state governments to initiate PSA Oxygen plants as soon as possible. The officials also briefed the PM about the Oxygen Express services, besides the domestic and international sorties of Indian Air Force in connection with transporting oxygen tankers.

The empowered group working on Covid management also briefed the PM on their efforts towards ramping up the availability of  ICUs and beds, and the initiatives being undertaken to break the chain of infection. Modi directed the officials to ensure proper implementation of all the guidelines to prevent the spread of infection in the States.
