PM underlines importance of local knowledge of infra building at ICDRI 2023 conference

Prime Minister Narendra Modi while sharing his views at the 5th International Conference on Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (ICDRI) 2023, underlined that the local Knowledge of building infrastructure should be used intelligently to withstand disasters. Local knowledge can be a global best practice. He added that some priorities for discussion on disaster resilience infrastructure is required in the background of  ‘Delivering Resilient and Inclusive Infrastructure’ that’s the theme of this year’s ICDRI conference.

The PM mentioned some of the CDRI initiatives and their inclusive intent. The PM informed regarding inclusion of CDRI in several working groups while mentioning about India’s G20 presidency. He underlined the importance of CDRI’s work giving a reference of the intensity and scale of the recent disasters like earthquake in Syria and Turkiye.
