Road Transport and Highways Ministry inks MoU with Austria for technology cooperation

Fostering bilateral cooperation for road and highways infrastructure development, besides, road safety and intelligent transport systems, the road transport and highways ministry of India signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with republic of Austria with its federal ministry of climate action, energy, innovation, mobility, technology and innovation.
The MoU is aimed at creating effective framework for joint cooperation in all the above mentioned fields between both the countries. The association will further embolden ties besides enhancing trade and regional integration among India and Austria.Since the establishment of bilateral ties between India and Austria in 1949, India has had excellent diplomatic relations with Austria.
Austria has excellent technologies for highways and roads, such as intelligent transportation systems, electronic toll systems, traffic management systems, landslide protection measures, geo-mapping and tunnel monitoring system. The bilateral cooperation between the two countries in road transport sector would be beneficial from the perspective of attractive financing possibilities as well as enhanced road safety thus through this MoU the good relations between the two countries will prosper further.
