TRIFED enriches Tribes India product portfolio with goods manufactured by inmates

The Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India (TRIFED),  under Ministry of Tribal Affairs, has included several new products in its portfolio. These also comprise the goods manufactured by the inmates of Jagdalpur Central Jail, among others. In this  new product expansion drive, the company has chosen mainly the immunity boosting forest fresh and organic range of products.

According to Pravir Krishna, MD, TRIFED, the initiative is aimed at transforming tribal lives and improving their livelihoods and the association with Jagdalpur Central Jail of Chhatisgarh is an initiative to offer a bigger market to the tribals for their produce, handicrafts to help them in becoming self-reliant.

These products have been included on Tribes India e-Marketplace and all of them will turn out to be excellent gifting products. Selling of these gifting items will also help in spreading cheer among disadvantaged sections of the society. The new product range include moorthis of Ganesha, Lakshmi, Durga and and then Ketki baskets made by tribal inmates of Jagdalpur Jail. The initiative is intended to make these jail inmates self-reliant.
