Expo 2020 Dubai registers 2 lakh footfalls at India pavilion

The India Pavilion at the Expo 2020, Dubai witnessed a record over 2,00,000 visitors since it was inaugurated by  Piyush Goyal, Minister of Commerce & Industry, Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution & Textiles, on 1stOctober 2021. Encompassing a series of sector and state specific sessions aimed at discussing the growth roadmap of India, the India Pavilion also secured investment opportunities for the country while simultaneously and celebrating several cultural events to attract the visitors.

Consul General of India in Dubai Dr Aman Puri affirmed that the Indian pavilion witnessed a strong visitor turnout in October and the momentum is expected to be continued in the upcoming months.

The India Pavilion saw various sessions highlighting the country’s renewable energy goals and climate action plan. These sessions were conducted by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy. The India Pavilion witnessed sector specific weeks for Karnataka, UT of Ladakh and Gujarat.

Announcement on partnership between the Government of Karnataka and Gulf Islamic Investments (GII) were made during Karnataka week. The move is aimed  to strengthen the investment ties between UAE and India.

 

The India Pavilion also witnessed cultural activities during Navratri and Dusshera celebrations. The India Pavilion took the celebration to the next level with folk dances, music, storytelling for the countless visitors and the dignitaries. Especially the Diwali Celebrations at India Pavilion comprised LED rangoli, colourful installations and performances by Salim-Sulaiman and bands not only from India but Dubai as well. Virtual display of firecrackers were also organized at the occasion of Diwali.
